Tom Heaton 7: Reduced the options for McCormack in one-on-one, forcing him to strike against post.
Kieran Trippier 8: Another assist, delivering a deadly near post ball that Pearce put through his own net.
Michael Duff 8: Largely limited McCormack's impact on the game. Withstood late pressure.
Jason Shackell 8: Terrific tackle stopped McCormack finding an empty net.
Ben Mee 8: Brave clearance to deny Smith as striker prepared to pull trigger. Involved in attacks.
Ross Wallace 6: Gave away a few niggly fouls. Went for ambitious shot when he had better options.
Dean Marney 7: Usual energy, and laid the perfect pass on for Trippier to send in killer cross for first.
David Jones 7: Made up for mistake putting Heaton under pressure with a strong second half .
Scott Arfield 8: Showed determination and dexterity to secure a big win in promotion race.
Ashley Barnes 7: Grew into the game on his full debut following Ings' injury. Hold-up and link play excellent.
Sam Vokes 7: Put Pearce under pressure to force the own goal equaliser. Adapted to new partnership.
Man of the match: Scott Arfield - Doesn't just cover a lot of ground but has the quality to go with it, and added another important goal.
