HUDDERSFIELD Town boss Mark Robins is hopeful that leading striker James Vaughan will be able to play some part in tomorrow’s game with Blackburn Rovers.

Vaughan, who has netted 12 goals so far this season, has missed the last five matches with a calf injury.

Huddersfield drew 0-0 with Charlton in midweek and Robins admits it would be an advantage to have their top scorer back in the ranks against Rovers.

But the Terriers chief insists he will not rush the return of his star forward.

“I will be working with James Vaughan to do a little bit more work with him to get him back up to speed.

“There is a possibility that he may be involved on Saturday. He is still some way from match fitness, though.”

Huddersfield have failed to score in three of the five matches Vaughan has missed but they did beat Barnsley 5-0 in their last home game.

The Terriers will be missing defender Joel Lynch who is recovering from a groin strain while midfielder Jonathan Hogg came through 90 minutes against Charlton without any ill-effects from his recent calf strain.

Burnley-born midfielder Oliver Norwood will hope to be involved while Robins can also call on former Claret Martin Paterson. The pair were both unused substitutes in midweek.

Huddersfield, who have won one of their last four matches will overtake Rovers should they take the points at the John Smith’s Stadium.
