ACCRINGTON Stanley had to settle for a point at home to Hartlepool United.

The game did not offer as much in the way of entertainment as Saturday's enthralling encounter with Chesterfield, which resulted in the Reds beating the League Two leaders 3-1.

But the goalless draw pushed the Reds closer to safety, although there were wins for the bottom two to keep the pressure on.

James Gray was lively, while Will Hatfield and Lee Molyneux went close with chances from open play and set pieces in the first half.

Hartlepool had chances too, with Jonathan Franks having a shot deflected wide. But there was nothing clear-cut for either team, in either half.

Josh Windass had Stanley's best chances after the break, notably when Adam Buxton brought the ball out from the back on an excellent run, but Windass couldn't hit the target.
