LONGRIDGE Town slipped to another home defeat, this time to strugglers Vickerstown.

The Cumbrians were always in charge at Chipping Road, with a goal double from Sean Patterson doing the damage and Danny Keenan also on the mark in a comprehensive 3-1 win.

John Carroll fired in Longridge’s consolation strike.

Premier Division top dogs Charnock Richard made no mistake against Tempest United, Mark Woods, David Burrows (2) and Mike Fletcher all on the mark in a 4-0 win.

In Division One, BAC/EE Preston crushed Ambleside United 9-0, with Alex Murphy firing a hat-trick and John Greenwood among the goals as they clocked up their biggest home win of the campaign.

Mill Hill St Peters continue to struggle at the wrong end of the table, and they tasted defeat again, 2-0 to Bolton County (Liam Pearcy, Dennis Strickland) Hurst Green remain firmly in the promotion hunt, and they bolstered third spot with a valuable point in a goalless draw at Furness Rovers.

Top dogs Lostock St Gerards suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat to Poulton though, with Adam Richardson scoring both goals for the Fylde men. Jonathan Booth's first half strike gave Haslingden St Marys a half-time lead at Furness Cavaliers in Division Two, but the Cumbrian outfit charged to victory with second half strikes from Jordan Chubb and Kyle Delves.

Hurst Green cut the gap on Division Two Reserves' leaders Mill Hill to half a dozen points with a crushing 5-1 win over luckless Longridge Town.

Longridge were never in the hunt as Gary Holt struck twice, with Alex Young, Edward Drake and Dean Bradshaw all weighing in.

Turton (Kyle Dickson) wered held 1-1 by Hesketh Bank (John Ashcroft). In the WLFL Challenge Cup, Todmorden Borough suffered a second round exit at the hands of Leyland United (Ryan Greenwood, Matt Ferguson) Burnley United also tasted defeat, going out to Milnthorpe Corinthians 5-4 on penalties in the first round of the WLFL Houston Cup.

The tie had finished 3-3 in normal time, with Connor Stuttard (2) and Josh Maxwell on the mark for United.

In the second round of the same competition, Haslingden St Marys (Dean Crawley, 2)were edged out 3-2 by Lostock St Gerards (James Faires 2, Paul Lakeland).
