Chorley Ladies hopes of winning the North West Ladies Combination were dealt a big blow after losing 3-2 at title rivals Mossley Hill.
The home team were far the better of the two teams and raced to a deserved 2-0 lead at the break.
But Chorley hit back early in the second half when first Vicky Coope lobbed the keeper then, after a period of pressure, Sam Cadwallader flicked the ball home after good work from Olivia Millington.
But with just two minutes left Mossley Hill broke away and scored the winner.
