Dark Glacier took a step in the right direction on his latest start and he can continue his resurgence in the 32Red Immortal Romance Slot Handicap Chase at Warwick on Sunday.

Peter Bowen's charge has slipped back down the ratings following a string of very average efforts and back on a perch of 113, it may prove a costly error to dismiss his chance.

The nine-year-old was an impressive winner off a mark of 105 before Christmas but the handicapper appeared to have overreacted as he whacked him up 13lb for winning an admittedly decent race, but one in which a number of leading candidates failed to perform.

Dark Glacier was pulled up on his next outing at Warwick but showed a flash of form when fourth at Exeter last month.

While he was beaten some 20 lengths, it was a still a fair run and one that has seen him drop a further 3lb back down the handicap.

Spirit Oscar disappointed her supporters when only second as an odds-on favourite but should be able to get back on track in the EBF Stallions/TBA Mares' Novices' Limited Handicap Chase.

Beaten 17 lengths by Destroyer Deployed, she was still travelling well when an awkward landing checked her momentum slightly and it was all downhill from there.

That was possibly a slight step back on her fencing bow but as a winning point to pointer, her pedigree is there to see and she might find the company of fellow mares more to her liking.

Kilcooley has impressed in winning twice at Market Rasen and a return to the Lincolnshire venue can yield dividends once again in the Lincs Loos "National Hunt'' Novices' Hurdle.

A six-length bumper win back in November obviously satisfied trainer Charlie Longsdon and he wasted little time in making the switch to obstacles with this former point runner.

Kilcooley duly impressed in dismissing Certification by 13 lengths despite taking a keen hold in the early stages.

Longsdon's charge clearly has plenty of gears and it would not be a surprise if he were to make his mark in better company before the end of the season.

Lily Waugh has twice been beaten at odds on but her turn can finally come in the Weightlifter Mares' Handicap Hurdle.

Trainer Anthony Honeyball has made no secret of the fact his yard has been under a bit of a cloud this term but Lily Waugh has still run well enough for second the last twice.

She has a nice bit of Listed bumper form back in November in the book and a return to that kind of level would probably be good enough.
