BOXER Suz Member will go back to the drawing board with mentor Herol Graham after suffering defeat on his professional debut.
Member, who used to live and train in Audley and previously worked at Blackburn Fire Station, has had a long career on the semi-pro circuit.
But Saturday’s bout against Lithuanian Tadas Stulginskas was his first official fight as a professional and Member has been receiving guidance from former Commonwealth and European champion ‘Bomber’ Graham.
His professional debut ended inside a round, however, after he was stopped by Lithuanian Tadas Stulginskas at London’s York Hall.
Member put his defeat down to accidentally shedding too much weight in sauna sessions leading up to the fight.
He said: “My heart dropped as soon as I stepped onto the scales. He was dead on 69kg, and I was at 65.6kg – well below my agreed contracted limit.
“I felt drained and tired in the ring and nowhere even close to my best.
“It’s bitterly frustrating because it was a fight I know I should have won.”
