THE Redeemer Primary School in Blackburn has been presented with its School Games Gold Kitemark Award.

The Sainsbury’s School Games Kitemark is owned and created by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and is implemented and developed by the Youth Sport Trust and Sport England.

The Kitemark rewards school for their commitment to and the development of competition, school sport and physical education and was first launched in June 2012 via the Sainsbury’s School Games website.

The Redeemer are the only school within Blackburn and Darwen to receive the award and less than 5 per cent of schools in the country will gain the award.

This is a fitting acknowledgment of the hard word and diligence of Mr Marshall and Mr Mcleod the PE-Coordinators at the school. The award is also for the young people to recognize the active role young leaders take within the schools and the continued success the school gains at local and county competitions across a huge variety of sports and activities.
