EAST Lancashire Football League top dogs Burnley Athletic and The Ivy are gunning for a 2014 league and cup double.
The Ivy, a point ahead of Burnley in the Division One title race, eased through to the semi-finals of the Presidents Cup with a 6-3 win at Borrowdale United.
Burnley joined them in the hat after an 8-0 thrashing of Barnoldswick Town United at Victory Park.
Read United are through as well, thanks to a 4-1 at Enfield, while Whinney Hill edged out Oswaldtwistle St Marys 1-0.
Rimington are not giving up their title silverware without a fight and with The Ivy and Burnley Athletic involved in cup action, Terry Braithwaite's side closed the gap on the leading pack with a 2-0 win over local rivals Worsthorne.
Bottom club Colne United crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Rock Rovers as their season of misery continued at Victoria Park.
Langho remain deep in trouble too after going down 2-0 to Feniscowles and Pleasington. Calder Vale and Stacksteads St Josephs shared nine goals, with Stacksteads edging it 5-4.
Reserve Division leaders Mill Hill went goals crazy with a 10-1 win over second bottom Barrowford Celtic, while Peel Park thrashed Stacksteads 5-2.
Third-placed Rock Rovers beat Read United 2-0.
