IT’S a massive two weeks coming up for Burnley and I think Derby is must win for us on Saturday to really put some daylight between us and them.

The last time Steve McClaren visited Turf Moor he lost 5-1 with Nottingham Forest and resigned shortly afterwards, but I don’t think that will be happening this time if he loses!

He has done a very good job at Derby and obviously you don’t get to be England manager for nothing.

You mustn’t be a bad manager.

But things are looking good for Burnley at the moment and we’re playing really well.

There were two things I was particularly pleased about against Forest on Saturday.

Firstly the attendance of nearly 15,000.

Hopefully the fans realise that they played their part in the result and can continue to play their part.

Secondly, I was pleased by the tribute to Gordon Harris and Sir Tom Finney, who both sadly passed away recently.

To be 3-0 up at half time and for the crowd to be baying for more goals was fantastic.

I met up with Mike Phelan this week and we were saying how it was a game of two halves.

But he said that even in the second half when Forest were playing much better, Burnley still created a lot of chances and that was a good sign.

That’s true, to do that when your backs are against the wall is a good sign and we might need that at Ewood Park a week on Sunday.

Blackburn Rovers away will be a really tough one.

I fear they might pip us again but I’d be happy with a point.

Sam Vokes got two more goals against Forest, that’s 42 goals between him and Danny Ings now.

It reminds me of when I played up front with Andy Lochhead, we never used to score in the same game!

I think Sam will do the same again against Derby, he will knock their defenders around.

Hopefully it’s Danny’s turn this time to get the goals!
