With only five weeks left of the inaugural season of the Dorothy Southworth Indoor Bowling league which is played weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Roefield Leisure Centre in Clitheroe eyes are already being focussed on next winter.

At present nine teams are involved but due to the success and popularity of the new venture the organisers are looking to extend the league.

With this in mind existing teams have been asked to register their intentions for next winter by the end of February. Any new teams, which can be from local clubs or simply a group of friends (ideally about ten) who fancy having a go can obtain further information from Roefield Leisure Centre ring 01200 442188}.

Any new teams are also being offered the opportunity to try the facilities free of charge by arranging a free practice session – again more details available from centre. Initial indications for next season are very positive and as twelve is the maximum number of teams that can be accommodated an early enquiry is advised.

Waddington Red have established a six point lead at the top of the league and with only five games left and a game in hand are firm favourites to become the first winners of the Dorothy Southworth trophy.

A presentation morning has been arranged for Tuesday 1st April at 11 o'clock and teams are reminded to inform Neil Ashworth of the anticipated numbers attending by the end of February.

The event will take the form of a free buffet plus presentation of trophies and mementoes.

Further information contact Neil at Roefield Leisure on 01200 442188.
