Rock in a hard place after another defeat
3:02pm Tuesday 25th February 2014 in Sport
ROCK Rovers could be heading for the drop after another defeat plunged them further into trouble at the foot of the First Division table.
The struggling Barrowford outfit, with just one league win this season, had no answer to Mill Hill's firepower as the visitors cruised to a 3-1 win.
The only side below them in the table – Colne United – also suffered another reverse, 2-1 to Calder Vale.
Read United and Feniscowles and Pleasington shared an eleven goal thriller, with Feniscowles edging it 6-5.
Oswaldtwistle St Marys moved into the top half of the table with a 4-0 win over Worsthorne.
Just one game survived the weather in Division Two, leaders Barrowford Celtic cutting down Pendle Forest 2-1.
In the Reserve Division, Mill Hill remain out in front - but they had to dig deep for their 4-3 win over Stacksteads St Josephs.
Whinney Hill are hot on their heels, though, after a terrific 4-3 win at Feniscowles and Pleasington.
Third-placed Rock Rovers won 3-2 at Peel Park.
On Saturday, The President’s Cup is down to the quarter finals with Division One Ivy and Burnley Athletic facing tricky away ties.
Division One leaders Ivy to to Second Division Borrowdale United while Burnley Athletic travel to Barnoldswick Town United.
