Blackburn Community Sports Club are once again organising the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile to help support the National Charity event which is held every two years.

The club has been selected as the local event for the Blackburn area and the fun run will take place on Sunday 23rd March at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School playing fields, Lammack Road, Blackburn.

It is the fourth time BCSC has organised the event and has raised more £10,000 from the previous three events – with more than 100 runners young and old taking part in the fun each time.

Anyone wanting to enter just needs to go to sportrelief.com choose The Blackburn Community Mile and select how far they would like to run – which is either one, three or six miles and also which starting time they would like (1-30pm or 3pm).

Nigel Dixon (above), chairman of Blackburn Community Sports Club said: “The course is around the playing fields of QEGS and the Old Blacks and is very flat and it really is suitable for all ages and abilities and a Fun run for all the family, with all the runners receiving a medal at the end.”
