CHORLEY’S Josh Charnley and skipper Sean O’Loughlin have been named in the Wigan squad for tomorrow’s World Club Challenge against Sydney Roosters.

Coach Shaun Wane has named a 19-man squad for the game at Allianz Stadium.

He is without Sam Powell, who misses out after picking up an ankle injury in training.

O’Loughlin and Charnley both sat out Wigan’s Super League opener against Huddersfield earlier this month through injury.

However, O’Loughlin says he will leave it as late as possible before deciding if he is fit to play.

“I’ll have a run out with the boys and if that’s all good I’ll be fit to play,” he said.

“But it’s a bit of a last-minute call again.”

Knee and Achilles injuries blighted the final months of 2013 for England loose-forward O’Loughlin, whose last two appearances for the Warriors came in the Challenge Cup final at Wembley in August and their Grand Final success at Old Trafford six weeks later.

“I’m doing whatever I can to get myself on the field, but I’ve got to be able to do some decent minutes,” continued the Wigan skipper, who has played more than 300 times for the Warriors.

“There’s no way I can declare myself fit and then not last 10 minutes. I desperately want to be part of the game but I’ve got to make sure I’m fit enough to be of benefit to the side as well.”

The Roosters are without star winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. The 20-year-old New Zealander scored eight tries at last year’s World Cup, but fractured his fibula in the opening minutes of November’s final defeat by Australia at Old Trafford.

Rugby League International federation player of the year Sonny Bill Williams and 14 other players that clinched the NRL title against Manly last October are included in Trent Robinson’s 20-man squad.
