DAILY SPORTS DEBATE: Should Evans go straight back into Blackburn Rovers side?

Corry Evans

Corry Evans

First published in Sport

CORRY Evans is almost ready for a first team return for Blackburn Rovers but would you pick him?

The Northern Ireland international could find a place in Rovers’ new-look diamond midfield but it would most likely be at the expense of Chris Taylor which would leave Rovers playing without any natural wingers.

If you were Rovers boss Gary Bowyer who would form your midfield for Saturday’s trip to Middlesbrough?

From what I heard he's far more influential than Lowe so as good as they are both Taylor and Lowe would be on the bench as versatile replacements for any injury mid game. Evans as you're holding midfielder and Cairney as attacking with King and Conway on the wings. Supplying Rhodes and Gestede with a solid defence behind this should be more than enough for anyone and allow for change of tactics/injuries as you see fit. But what do I know, I'm just a 6-fingered Dingle.

Only if he is 100% fit! and then it's GBs job to pick the team, for my part it would be a diamond with Evans Carney, Conway and Dunn, and this is where the bench (which is getting better) comes in and GB has to learn, at least one of each to start with, a defender, a winger a forward and a midfielder on the bench and stay positive when making your substitutions, if it's not working after 60 minutes change it. Up and at em GB home and away.

You may be a 6 fingered dingle but you are very well informed about the Rovers and talk sense! I wouldn't be able to name any of the dingle midfielders. You're really a Rovers fan aren't you?

Rovers fan? Never been so insulted. Now you're pretty much sorted in midfield, Dunn to me would be a better impact player to unlock a stubborn defence from 60mins onward when the opposition is already a little bit jaded. With the odd cameo he's less likely to get crocked himself and only sees around 60mins from a start now he's older which is when you really want to be bringing him on for most effect. This from what I've heard anyway. Off down Burnley town centre to smash a few windows in my home town. Sees thy later.

l dont think it matters what we fans think at the end of the day Gary knows if the player is fit enough to do him and the team justice,,he must get at least 45 minutes enough time to make an impact,he is quality when he is on his game,
