Darwen Rangers have been inundated by requests from primary school youngsters to join the club.

They have done their best to accomadate as many as possible but there is a limit to who they can include in our teams.

Club officials have decided to run a project which will give every pupil the chance to train with Rangers inside at DACA and outside in April until the summer holidays on Saturday mornings.

The strategy of the programme is to give all Darwen primary school pupils the opportunity to take part in football training sessions with an option to join one of Darwen’s junior football teams Projectprogramme (Year 1 – November 2013 – June 2014). The project will consist of three parts: Two indoor taster sessions at Darwen Leisure Centre – sessions taken by a Darwen Rangers Coach Additional indoor coaching sessions during the winter months at Darwen Leisure Centre with outdoor sessions to be held on Saturday mornings starting in April on grass on the Square Meadow Community Field.

Invitations will be sent to all Darwen Primary Schools by sport co-ordinator Mike Leighton.
