ONLY two fixtures survived the weather and waterlogged pitches again wiped out the majority of fixtures in he Blackburn Sunday football League.

In Division One, Mill Hill played host to bottom-of-the-table Station on a surprisingly good pitch.

Mill Hill soon settled into their game and ran out convincing winners with Liam Fryer scoring four times while Carl Mercer and Ben Singleton each weighed in with a hat-trick each.

Two goals from Alex Ralph and a goal from Mark Buxton completed the rout.

Mill Hill who along with Clifton are the only clubs left with a 100 per cent record in the division.

The are now just three points behind Clifton with a game in hand.

Next Sunday will see the league’s big two clash at Roman Road and although it will not decide anything it will give a pointer as to where the title could go this season.

The other game to survive the weather was in division 3 where Helmshore Harriers, playing for the first time in six weeks, ran out convincing 4-1 winners against King Edward who go top of the table above Whinney Hill Colts on goal difference.
