TEENAGER Raheem Hanley has signed an 18-month deal with Premier League outfit Swansea City after his release from Blackburn Rovers this week.

Hanley, 19, impressed as part of the Rovers side which reached the final of the 2011-12 FA Youth Cup.

The England U19s international broke into the club’s U21s side the following season.

But he never made the step up into the Rovers senior squad and on Tuesday mutually agreed to cancel his contract.

Not sure I understand why we've let him go. Its not like our current full backs are setting the world on fire. Surely was worth a run out before releasing him

Is that a fact or conjecture?

I was surprised when I heard he was released yesterday but it is interesting that a side as good as Swansea have stepped in so quickly.

Looks a bit odd, perhaps something going on behind the scenes we don't know about?

Looks like Financial Fair Play really does apply to Blackburn Rovers after all.

Who's next out of the Ewood Park revolving door of shame?

Totally agree. I hear he was on 120k a week, not sustainable at our level.

do you ever read the story before you come on here with your smrt a**SE comments his contract was terminated by mutual consent
as was Marvin Bartley,s
and before you can have a fire sale you have to sell someone
if you look at who has gone from rovers this
transfer window no one has been sold but has gone on loan or been released by rovers
as for your revolving door of shame
well that's just a stupid question
that deserves a stupid answer
i told the door to behave itself

He was a member of a good youth team just a couple of years ago. Can't be on big money, so it is hard to understand. We may never hear the full story, but it is possible that the lad himself wanted to move. He may have a connection to someone on the Swansea staff for instance.
It is also possible that Bowyer and Short didn't think he had enough potential to make the first team, so give another youngster the place on the reserve team.
I just hope we don't regret it if he turns out to be a valuable player in a few years time. Good luck to the lad.

You might be right about Raheem Hanley but do us all a favour & find yourself a club that appreciates your own talents i.e. being a lazy bastid, putting in little effort for the 35 grand you keep telling us all your on!!!!
