EAST Lancashire’s Stacey Kemp and partner David King finished in 13th place in the European Figure Skating Championships in Budapest.
Kemp, from Chorley, and King, from Carlisle, climbed three places after their freestyle routine.
The pair had finished 16th out of 20 competitors after Friday’s short programme routine to take the last available qualifying sport.
But an improved freestyle performance saw the pair, who used to train at Blackburn Arena, climb above Amani Fancy and Christopher Boyadji.
Kemp and King will now turn their attention to the Winter Olympics, where they will represent Team GB in the pairs competition and the team event.
They finished in 16th place in Vancouver four years ago.
