NORTH West Counties League Division One leaders Nelson will bid to extend their advantage at the top of the table when they travel to Ashton Town tomorrow.

Free-scoring Nelson have hit an astonishing 85 league goals in 25 games – including four in last weekend’s derby victory over Darwen. Mark Fell’s men have a four point advantage at the top of the pile and will be favourites to take the points at mid-table Ashton.

But the visitors will have to hope that Everton striker Arouna Kone, who has set up a soccer school in conjunction with Ashton, did not pass on too much goalscoring information when he visited the club recently.

Darwen, who despite that defeat last week, are comfortably in mid-table host struggling Daisy Hill.

In the Premier Division, Colne face a tough task away at title-chasing Maine Road.

The Blues are going along nicely in eighth place and have lost just once in their last four games.

Barnoldswick Town are also on their travels as they make the trip to leaders Runcorn Linnets.

Bacup & Rossendale Borough, who find themselves in the relegation zone on goal difference, are without a fixture.
