BLACKBURN Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson and top-scorer Jordan Rhodes are injury doubts for Saturday’s Championship clash at play-off rivals Nottingham Forest.

Robinson came off at half-time in last night’s FA Cup third-round replay defeat at Manchester City with a hamstring problem.

The former England number one, while confident he will be fit to face Forest, is to undergo a scan to discover the extent of the injury.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer said: “Paul Robinson is going to have a scan as a precaution to see the extent of it.

“At half-time he felt he could carry on a little bit longer.

“But we made the sensible decision to withdraw him.

“So we’ll get the results of the scans and see how he settles down.

“But he’s not ruled himself out for Saturday, that’s for sure.”

Bowyer was without both Rhodes (foot) and skipper Scott Dann (groin) for the 5-0 loss at quadruple-chasing City.

Bowyer, who is hopeful Dann will return on Saturday, said: “Contrary to reports that they were withdrawn because they were going to be sold, they were genuinely injured.

“Jordan has not trained this morning so we’ll see if he can join in tomorrow.”

Bowyer confirmed that he may name Ruben Rochina and David Goodwillie in his squad for the trip to the City Ground – even though the duo could be heading out of the club on loan.

Fit-again duo Corry Evans and Todd Kane will return to full training on Monday.
