I WAS absolutely gutted when Newport’s equaliser hit the back of the net in injury time.

We had battled well to come back from a goal down to be leading at the end of normal time, and it looked like we had secured our first three points of the new year.

When you score three goals at home on most occasions you would expect to win, even when playing a team pushing for promotion.

Despite the downer of the late equaliser there are many positives to take from the Reds’ performance.

We looked great on the ball and at times Newport were chasing shadows. And once again we have proved we can score from anywhere.

Peter Murphy’s season just keeps getting better and another brace will have done his confidence a world of good. All bets are off on how many goals he will end up with come the end of the season.

Kal Naismith is another player in form who knows how to find the back of the net and never gives up.

The league is so tight at the bottom that the draw means we now sit just above the relegation places and face a tough trip to Cheltenham this Saturday.
