BLACKBURN Rovers boss Gary Bowyer was left to rue missed chances after his side’s Boxing Day stalemate with Sheffield Wednesday.

While not at their best Rovers still created gilt-edged opportunities which top-scorer Jordan Rhodes, full debutant Rudy Gestede and substitute Josh King were unable to convert.

At the other end Simon Eastwood made the two most impressive saves of the match to keep out Atdhe Nuhiu headers from Stephen McPhail free kicks.

Bowyer said: “Their goalkeeper has worked very hard to keep Jordan out a couple of times, Josh King has shot straight at him, and Rudy probably should have done a little better when he was clean through.

“I’d be more concerned if we weren’t creating those chances.”

The draw extended Rovers’ unbeaten run to four matches and moved them up to 10th and within three points of the play-offs ahead of the evening games in the Championship.
