AFTER difficult away games at high-flying Curzon Ashton and Bamber Bridge, Ramsbottom United now have back-to-back home games over the festive period.
And Rams fans have every reason to turn up early for today’s Evo-Stik Division One North clash with Salfard City – as the first 100 get a free mince pie courtesy of chairman Harry ‘Santa’ Williams.
The Rams, however, will be looking for that winning ingredient on the pitch to boost their play-off hopes.
And three points against mid-table Salford City would be a perfect Christmas gift before they have a difficult home clash with fellow play-off hopefuls Farsley.
The Throstles were not too long ago – in their previous disguise – members of the Conference, but financial difficulties led to the old club going out of business, while their successors have made a successful return to this level of the game.
So it should prove a difficult encounter for the Rams, managed by Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley (above).
