IT’S just a case of keeping the wins going now for Blackburn. It doesn’t matter how they get them, they just have to get them if they are to continue to get close to the play-offs.

Yeovil at the weekend was a big game so to go down there and get the result was fantastic.

It set them up perfectly for the home games against Sheffield Wednesday today and Birmingham on Sunday.

There’s no doubt about it, this is a period that all players and managers look at it – with so many games coming up – and see as crucial as the table is starting to take shape.

When you get handed two home games at Christmas it’s important to take the six points and keep in with the challenge.

I’ve got no doubt about it, Blackburn can do that.

But I still believe they could do with a little bit more movement beyond Jordan Rhodes as teams do figure out that if they can stop Jordan, they can go a long way to stopping Blackburn from scoring.

If they can work on that I think they will score more goals. You can’t rely on Jordan all the time so it’s up to the other strikers and particularly the players in the central midfield area to contribute.

Jordan is in great form again but we can’t expect him to score all the time.

He’s just been through a barren spell and you only have to look at the results when Jordan wasn’t scoring.

But I’m still quietly confident. I always think and I have always said that a club of Blackburn’s size should be getting into the play-offs.

Looking at it, that’s the way it may have to be because if they were to win automatic promotion from here they would have to go on a long, unbeaten run from now.

That said it can be done and it has been done – you only have to look at Crystal Palace last season.

So I don’t see why Blackburn can’t do it this season provided they keep digging out the wins and provided they start sharing the goals around the team.

Finally, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
