ALEXIS Walker did her country proud as she represented England in a Thai Boxing international against Belgium.

Walker, a member of Burnley-based Hakuda Thai Boxing Club, was up against Magda Wiszynska in a competition held in Radcliffe.

The Burnley fighter started on the front foot and her aggressive approach hurt her opponent with strong knees to the body and hard boxing combinations.

But it was in the third round where her power shoe through as she landing a couple of knees to the head which had Wiszynska in trouble.

However, the brave Belgian recovered to go the distance where Walker was declared the winner.

Hakuda also had two members in action in another North West show both competing for titles.

First up was the explosive Carl Garnett who went at his opponent from the first bell – putting him down in the first round with a knee to the ribs.

Garnett’s rival was in all sorts of trouble in the second round when a series of body punches had him on the canvas once again giving the referee no option but to step in and stop the contest. And Leeroy Decruz, 14, made it a day to remember for the club as he won his third title belt.

Again, it was a strong start with boxing combinations and leg kicks while he also dominated in the clinch.

Decruz continue to attack, landing hard knees to his opponents body and landing some very solid head kicks to take the title and become the new champion. The club thanked sponsor Glenn Slater Contractors for their support.
