WE’RE now coming to the stage in the season that you really start paying attention to the league table.

By the end of this month we’ll be at the halfway point and we’ll have a better idea of where Blackburn are.

It is a busy, busy period – you play six games before and after Christmas – and it’s an important one too.

It’s important that you take points off teams about and below you and if you can get anything off the teams above you then it’s a bonus.

But to me Blackburn should be one of those teams at the top.

They had a slow start to the season but they now look like they’re getting to grips with it and I really hope they can go on a nice run little between now and the end of the season and get themselves into the play-offs – or even better.

One of the teams who are above Blackburn are QPR, who we play on Saturday.

For me QPR are rightly regarded as one of the favourites for the title.

They’ve got a big and strong enough but as we found out with Blackburn last season after they got relegated from the Premier League, at the end of the day it’s all about winning games.

I usually watch Blackburn’s game from the press box but on Saturday against Leeds I watched them from the stands.

And I must admit I found it very, very strange. You know that fans have opinions but it was surprising just how different they can be.

I must have had 12 fans sat around me and each and every one of them had different opinions.

You want to say something but I just kept my mouth shut and tried to enjoy the game as best as I could.

It was a good win and here’s hoping for another at QPR.
