BURNLEY United are locked in a West Lancashire Premier Division scrap after another home defeat.

Burnley crashed 1-0 at home to Coppull United, with Greg Brickell on the mark for the visitors.

It leaves Burnley just a point above the bottom three with only fellow strugglers Vickerstown, Norcross and Warbreck and Fulwood Amateurs below them.

Longridge Town are locked in the bottom half too, and a 2-0 defeat at Slyne with Hest did little to help their cause with Josh Butler and Callum Moore on the mark for the North Lancashire men.

The shock of the day saw runaway leaders Charnock Richard beaten 4-1 at third-placed Crooklands Casuals.

In Division One, Hurst Green saw Ashley Brierley on the mark as the Ribble Valley lads picked up a point with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Hawcoat Park in Barrow-in-Furness.

There was a welcome win for strugglers Mill Hill St Peters, who eased their way to a 2-0 win over Lytham Town with Matt Allen and Mark Scholey on the scoresheet.

Haslingden St Marys saw Thomas Hulme, Danny Richmond, Matthew Martindale and a Danny Wade penalty ease them to a 4-0 victory over Barrow Wanderers in Division Two, but Todmorden Borough were beaten 3-1 at home by CMB.

Burnley Uniteds second string had a day to forget, thrashed 9-0 by Charnock Richard, with Ryan Donnellan scoring five times in a one-sided Division One Reserves fixture.

In Division Two Reserves, Hurst Green crushed Milnthorpe Corinthians Reserves 8-2 with Alan Coar scoring four times.

But Longridge Town Reserves suffered a heavy home defeat, crashing 5-0 to Mill Hill St Peters with Jordan Freeman (2), Simon Cowling (2) and Bernard Heggarty on the mark.
