Interception has really started to shine in recent weeks and can make it a hat-trick in the BetVictor’s New Live Casino Handicap at Kempton.

The daughter of Raven’s Pass was limited to just one outing as a juvenile and was then off the track for more than a year before returning to action at Leicester in October.

Her second place that day showed plenty of promise and she duly lived up to expectations when winning a six-furlong Wolverhampton event late last month, doing it in fine style despite the field being decidedly weak.

However, she could do little more than win and showed that was no flash in the pan when striking in a handicap back at Dunstall Park, scoring by three and a quarter lengths without really hitting top gear.

This race is another step up the ladder and while Interception has to contend with a 10lb rise in the ratings, another win would do wonders for the paddock value of this well-related type.

One Penny Piece appears to have found her level and can go in again in the Book Christmas Festival Tickets Now Claiming Stakes.

Handicaps were a bit tough for Philip McBride’s charge but dropped to claiming class, she obliged with a win at Lingfield.

A tongue tie appeared to have the desired effect and her likeable attitude makes One Penny Piece the right type to keep on side in this kind of company.

Four Nations went very close when last seen and can get it right in the Back of The Net At BetVictor Handicap.

Pretty unexposed on the all-weather, his second at Lingfield was a creditable one and there is no reason to expect anything other than a similar effort off the same mark.

Paul Nicholls has made no secret of the fact some of his runners have needed an outing and Just A Par can step up on his debut effort in the RSA Worcester Novices’ Chase on the opening afternoon of the Hennessy meeting at Newbury.

The six-year-old was a point-to-point winner in Ireland and claimed a Punchestown hurdle before changing hands for £260,000 at Brightwells last November.

Nicholls was then not too hard on his new recruit, sending him to Exeter to finish second the useful Many Clouds in February before skipping Cheltenham in favour of a run at Aintree’s Grand National meeting in April.

While he finished some eight lengths behind At Fishers Cross, that really is top-class form and a none too shabby effort on what was a massive step up in grade.

He looked all the way a future chaser and hopes were high on his first attempt at Chepstow but he eventually had to give best to Shotgun Paddy and may just be one of the Nicholls string who will make great strides for his return.

Last season’s Neptune fourth Chatterbox is back in the bet365 Intermediate Hurdle, an event better known as the Gerry Feilden.

Nicky Henderson’s runner beat stablemate and leading Champion Hurdle hope My Tent Or Yours last season before going on to win again at Newbury and book his place at the Festival.

He was no match for The New One but there was no shame in being beaten 13 lengths and he looks sure to make his mark this term.

Renard D’Irlande may have been a somewhat fortunate winner on his return at Uttoxeter but he looked as though he might have still had a bit in the locker when his main rival crashed through the last fence.

He was slightly down on Henry King before that one’s costly blunder but he was staying on again and the way he pricked his ears on the run in suggests he might have been saving a bit for himself.

The bet365 Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase is no doubt a tougher task, but further progression is not ruled out.

Kentford Grey Lady is worth another chance in the 32Red.com Mares’ Beginners’ Chase at Uttoxeter.

A high-class performer over hurdles, her confidence appeared to take a knock when she made a mistake on her fencing bow at Exeter last month.

Emma Lavelle’s charge was a bit careful at the following obstacles which obviously cost her valuable ground, but she is likely to have been well schooled since and remains a potentially useful addition to these ranks.

The Skyfarmer, a ready scorer at Newton Abbot last month, should take all the beating in the Wraxall Vineyard “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle at Taunton.
