Lowe said: “He has instilled a lot of confidence and belief in me and you need that to play to your potential.
“He has given me the freedom to show what I can do and for that I am very grateful.”
The new deal caps off a month to remember for Lowe after he was named of the match in Rovers’ last two home games.
“I’m over the moon,” said Lowe, who is in his 10th year at the club.
“I love playing here and I have done since I started.”
Lowe, who is still searching for his first Rovers goal, added: “I have worked hard to improve all aspects of my game and I feel my performances this season reflect that.
“I will keep pushing myself to get better and to help get results for the team.”
Bowyer said: “Our Academy recently got category one status and Jason should be an inspiration to everybody connected to it because he’s shown what you can achieve with application and hard work.
“We’re glad to have got him tied down because there was some interest in him – and no doubt there will be more in the future because he’s a good player who will get better.”
