Rhodes happy with Blackburn Rovers says Bowyer
GARY Bowyer has rubbished reports that star striker Jordan Rhodes is unhappy at being denied a move to Wigan Athletic.
Latics manager Owen Coyle made an enquiry about the Blackburn Rovers hitman on transfer deadline day only to be told he was not for sale.
That scared Coyle off from returning with an official bid.
But it did not prevent speculation from emerging yesterday that Rhodes – currently on international duty with Rovers and Scotland team-mate Grant Hanley – fancied a move to the DW Stadium.
Blackburn boss Bowyer said: “Jordan is not unhappy.
“The only unhappiness he’s probably got at this moment in time is that he’s probably rooming with Grant Hanley away with Scotland.
“But in all seriousness you don’t work as hard as he did on Saturday and score the goals he did if he was unhappy.
“We’re glad the window has gone and all the speculation and rubbish that was reported about some of our players is over.
“The players that we have here are happy to be here. Now we’ve got to make sure they all come back fit from international duty and kick on.”
