Full-time: Derby 0, Burnley 3
5:00pm Saturday 31st August 2013 in Sport
BURNLEY maintained their proud Pride Park record to secure a fourth straight away win against Derby County.
The Clarets are nine unbeaten in total against the Rams, thanks to first-half goals for strike duo Danny Ings and Sam Vokes, and a second half volley for captain Jason Shackell against his old club.
Shackell's strike put the result beyond doubt, after Tom Heaton had earlier saved a Johnny Russell penalty.
The defender had been adjudged to have committed a foul on Chris Martin by referee Andrew Madley, who pointed to the spot.
Manager Sean Dyche was furious at the decision, so will have felt justice was served when Heaton dived to his left to make the save, and Shackell cleared the rebound.
Burnley, who had gone ahead in the 14th minute through Ings' superb solo goal, with Vokes doubling the lead just after the half-hour from close range, used the spot kick save as an incentive.
Keith Treacy had put a succession of dangerous balls into the box.
With his final touch before being withdrawn he delivered an inviting corner, which Shackell lined up on the volley and drilled across Grant.
Ings had a second disallowed after Vokes had strayed offside.
