Cumbrian agony as Longridge cricketers miss out
LONGRIDGE Town slipped to defeat in the Bay Radio West Lancashire League Premier Division as they were edged out by Crookland Casuals in Cumbria on Saturday.
Hotshot John Ross was on target for the Ribble Valley outfit – but they lost 2-1 to leave themselves with five points from their five games to date.
Burnley United also suffered a loss as they went down 6-3 to ambitious Garstang at Barden.

Burnley United Reserves were denied by a last minute goal at Fulwood Amateurs in Division One Reserve.
United led thanks to Matthew Ashworth’s 19th minute goal but their hopes of three points were shattered by Neil Wright’s last-gasp leveller but Haslingden St Mary’s Reserves were big winners.
They swamped Lostock St Gerard’s 3-0 thanks to a Gino Mancini goal and a brace from Bacup cricket ace Anthony Taylor.
Chris Scott hit a hat-trick as Hurst Green Reserves thumped Poulton Town 5-1, while Longridge Town Reserves were also celebrating as they edged out Slyne Reserves in a five-goal thriller.
Kristian Bibby scored twice for the locals and Lee Walker got the crucial third goal as they won 3-2 despite a Lee Danvers brace for Slyne.
