HULL City are believed to have made a late U-turn on their bid to sign Charlie Austin from Burnley.

The Clarets' top scorer travelled to Humberside yesterday for a medical and personal talks but Hull sources say the the newly promoted Tigers pulled out of the deal at the 11th hour.

Both clubs had agreed a fee of £4.5million over the weekend, which would have made Austin Hull's second more expensive signing behind Jimmy Bullard.

The move was all set to be completed yesterday, but Hull reportedly backed out last night and are expected to release a statement today.
