Patterson wants FA to investigate Venky’s
11:48am Friday 22nd March 2013 in Sport
FURIOUS Mark Patterson has called on Football Association chiefs to launch an investigation into owners Venky’s – and for Blackburn to appoint Roy Keane as their next boss.
The call from the popular ex-Rover comes just 24 hours after League Managers’ Association chief executive Richard Bevan launched an angry attack on Ewood’s hapless regime following Michael Appleton’s sacking.
“I’ve had a 30-year involvement in the game, both at professional and non-league level, and I’ve never seen anything so shambolic in all my life when I look at what is going on at Blackburn,” said Patterson, who lives in Darwen.
“Before that, I supported Rovers as a kid and it breaks my heart to see what is happening because playing for Blackburn made me so proud.
“I stood on the terraces when we beat Plymouth in 1975 in front of 18,000 at Ewood, and that was a big crowd then.
“Legends like Graham Hawkins, Derek Fazackerley and Roger Jones were guys who wore the badge with pride then.
“It is only 18 years ago since Blackburn Rovers were Premier League champions, but this lot have made Blackburn the laughing stock of the football world in the space of a couple of years.
“It is a disgraceful situation, and I really think the powers that be – and I mean the Football Association – should take a serious look at this because Venky’s, I believe, have brought the game and Blackburn Rovers into disrepute.
“They are certainly heaping shame on Blackburn Rovers, and I can’t see this horror show ending happily.
“If Jack Walker, Blackburn’s greatest benefactor, was still with us he would be shedding tears of sorrow at what Venky’s are doing to this great club.”
Appleton this week became the third manager to leave Blackburn this season, following the departures of Steve Kean in September and Henning Berg two months later.
And Patterson reckons hard-man Keane, the former Manchester United legend, would be just the sort of character to instill some much needed fight into Blackburn’s under-achieving squad.
“I’d love to see Roy Keane come in and give it a blast,” added Patterson. “Some of them wouldn’t know what day it was would they?
“Keane has the right attributes to sort it out – he wouldn’t take any silly nonsense.
“The one I feel sorry for is David Dunn because Dunny – a proud Blackburn man – has shed blood for the cause when others have just thrown it in.
“They are certainly going to need him because when I look at the rest of the squad I do wonder if they have the desire and the fight to roll their sleeves up and scrap their way out of trouble.”

You think nay insist that you have a right to premiership status when the truth is you have with Jack walkers cash been punching way above your weight for the last 20 years or so.But you just cant accept your place in the football pyramid which is mid table championship at best. All you have done is embarress yourselves and you club at a national level even to the point of booing your team when they score, only at ewood eh ? . Your not even top dogs in east lancs anymore and that really hurts dont it ! .They always say that ultimatley the people get the leader that they deserve and you have VENKYS the owners from hell.DOOMED I TELL YA.

1) our club to be competitive on the field and if that is in the premiership - so be it....and if in another division - que sera.
2) our club to be well run by those entrusted off the field to do their job to the required standarr
3) for there to be a bond between the club and its supporters
now if all three of those are excessive demands - then all rovers supporters have unrealistic expectations

yeah, its true that we are going through the mill at the current moment - but in the fullness of time we will rise back above the hill monkeys at the end of the m65. natural order will be restored and that may (hopefully) be quicker than we think.
your comments are always welcome as it proves that natural selection is alive and well and rovers supporters are evolutionary advanced versus our neighbours in BB8 to BB12.....heaven's to betsy i have just realised you all have Blackburn postcodes - that's another one for you to get an inferiority complex about.

In the fullness of time my friend I will tell you where you are really going - you are going down, to the depths of where your club was before a senile old fat fool opened his cheque book and elevated you into the false position that you hace occupied for the past few years.
You need to get this into your neanderthal sized forehead - You are back where you belong, a poorly supported mid-table Second or third division club - JUST LIKE BURNLEY and that last statement is what is eating most at you poor deluded inbreds isn't it?
You seem to think that you have some god-given right to be above 'little Burnley' when in reality, prior to the Fat Fool's cash, Burnley had spent more years in the top flight than you, competed in the European and UeFA Cups and basically had more recent history than you - all done without an injection of cash.
Blackburn fans have basically done nothing but take the **** out of Burnley since you have been in the Premier League, as the vast majority of your fans have forgotten the times when we were very similar clubs - you are like Utd fans, you can dish out the gried when it suits you but cannot take any kind of banter back...

He got Scunthorpe promoted a couple of times on a low budget and went in to Southampton when they were struggling and we saw what he did there.
He also gets his teams playing the right way which is what we as fans want to see again. I am fed up of the dire way we have played over the last two years.
Nobody wants to get relegated but if we do go down and Adkins took over I am sure we would easily re-group with a new manager then there would be nobody better for the job.
Forget Roy Keane. He is too much like Paul Ince, an arrogant, big, headed man who would fall out with most of the players and the owners and would last about ten minutes in the hot seat.
Look what he did at Ipswich and Sunderland!!!

We want John Williams to come with a consortium from Middle East to buy back Rovers from the Venkys.
Indians will not spend a fortune into a football clubs like previously the Bhatti Brothers who bought Wolves and today UK's richest man who owns QPR FC Mr Mittal and Venkys of India who owns BRFC .
Indians are not good philanthrophist ,Indians will keep their vast fortune in Banks and would not give it away.Like the Jews Indians are shrew bussinessmen and Indians own lot of business in Europe,US,UK ,Middle East and Africa.Indian rich and elite are very powerful people and don't like taking orders from small people below them. That's why there is caste system in India like High caste,Middle Cast and Low Caste who are poorest people in India who do the menial jobs like cleaning the toilets, sweeping the streets,
Finally why do dingles have to come on our Rovers website telling how great their little club is.Burnley is owned by Barry KIlby who is worth about £60m and now telling his manager to sell some his best players to balance the books this year.Burnley will always remain in the shadow of BRFC.

“I’d love to see Roy Keane come in and give it a blast,” added Patterson. “Some of them wouldn’t know what day it was would they?
“Keane has the right attributes to sort it out – he wouldn’t take any silly nonsense. ''
Lets get this straight
Roy Keane as a player was a ;
great warrior
A fierce competitor
A real man hard as nails
hungry and a proud winner
a leader on the pitch
Excellent engine
No one messed about with him
etc.
You would rather have him on your side then on opposition.
PUT it simply.....
IF he had opted for BRFC we would have won the title many more times..!
He would have been the icing on our past glory... simply WINNERS.....!
Top players do not always make good managers.! def the case with RKeane.
Unfortunately, as a manager, Roy keane is and has been a total failure.
Managing requires different skills and attributes. It is evident that Roy Keane does not have those.
for example:
he still thinks hes a top player
but reality is he's not anymore
and still he does not see himself as retired...!!
he still thinks like the top player he was with quality players around him.
Actually, even at Man UTD where all are quality, it was common for Roy to get angry everyday with the players.
This increased towards the end of his career so much that Fergy. had to safe guard his other players and hence Roy had to go.
he has bought many players as a manager but most have been bad buys.
he rarely made a good choice with players bought most were average or not good enough..!
He has very poor financial sense.
his track record at buying players is very poor.
he gets angry very quickly.
he easily falls out with his players
if he does not get on with players.
he gets angry & he sidelines too many players.
In fact, Roy has fallen out with too many players and likely always to fall out with other human being and players because of his personality adn fiery temper & he wants all his way
so much that he would disregard or banish players. He would never play them again.
Hence with all the previous teams he has managed he has managed to have more players that he would not play again then those actually left to choose from. ....!!!!!!
He is a hot head and likely to fall out at any time, he is not dependable, he has no successful management record, & def. not BRFC management material.
We need stability, and success.
above all else we need a manger who can get on with all concerned especially winning over the fans and uniting everyone at the club.
We need someone to bring in quality players from the Uk and abroad. someone with connections to clubs and players.
We need someone who can take us back to the Premier and that requires someone who is hard working, someone who is not coming only for money, someone who can lead by example, someone who is motivated, someone who can deliver the results required by all fans, someone with charisma, style and passion.
always

Football clubs were formed by local people to give some relive from their everyday working live. The fact that the founder members of the football league were made up of clubs from mainly industry (hard working) towns is no coincidence (that even includes Burnley) I like the idea of supporting a club that was supported in the past by descent hard working people.
Also in the past the people who ran the clubs did have the best interest of the club and its supporters at heart.
This is especially true of Blackburn Rovers. Jack Walker made a lot of money but he was aware that he made it with the help of the people of Blackburn and that is why he did what he did. He may have be on a personal ego trip but he invited us all along for the ride.He also made sure that the club was run in a classy way with a nod to the past( moving the boardroom to the new stand )
This continued with John Williams, remember him oppologising for having to sack Paul Ince but doing it for the best interest of the club. He actually said that live on the radio.
The present owners and management ( and I use the word management loosely ) are treating today's supports with contempt ,today's supporters are the desendents of the hard working people who formed a football club that became a founder member of the football league
My message to the present supporters is to remember that you are the desendents of descent people with class.
My message to the present owners is to run Blackburn Rovers with class and if you feel you can not ( and so far you have not) let someone who can.

No, Steve Kean was a puppet for Venkys. He did exactly as they asked and that was why he wasn't sacked. They were happy with him, including him taking us DOWN. We were already in free fall with Kean and headed only in one direction with him....DOWN.
The reason we are still in free fall is because of Venkys continued refusal to invest in good players and employ a PROPER manager.

Steve Kean was the worst thing ever to happen to our club and unless we survive this season and get promoted next season (highly unlikely)and get in on the BT money, we will forever bear the scars of his tenure.
If you believe we would of been promoted under Kean then you are either deranged or you don't know a thing about football. Or perhaps you don't even go to the games? If you did then surely, like the rest of us, you would of seen that at the beginning of the season teams were showing us undue respect because of the names in our squad. We got found out by Middlesbrough as I recall, as predicted by many on here before the game. From then on its been a downward spiral.
Under Kean Not one of the starting 11 could last 90mins because they were so unfit, hence why they are all injured now.
I ask you this, if Steve kean is a guaranteed ticket to the premiership, why hasn't he even come close to landing another job in football? Ill answer it for you aswell. Because Steve kean is a bubble headed buffoon which can be seen by every single person involved in football bar yourself and Mrs D.

Well, apart from stewards and police at some away grounds saying what a pain in the @rse Burnley fans were.
This guy really does live in his own little world; developing his own version of history to justify his club's inferiority. He would be an excellent subject for research into the complex of the same. Being a Burnley fan, he'd be at the front of a very long queue.

Do you seriously think "the football world" gave a flying f@ck about Bunley's rivalry with Blackburn? Fans, media, anybody? You really do have an inflated opinion of your own importance over there in ga-ga land.
The other clubs' fans and the media may not have liked us winning the title on the back of Jack Walker(RIP)'s cash; they thought it was somehow morally wrong. Even then it was only because it was Blackburn and not one of the more glamourous clubs.
Did we care? Errrrr, no.
I can assure you "the football world" didn't form an opinion based on us singing songs about Burnley (not that we did). The only time the rivalry received any airtime was when Yorkshire - Dingle Alistair Campbell referred to Rovers in a less than complimentary way when answering a question in a TV interview.
Even the media has come to respect what Rovers and Jack Walker (RIP) achieved; Writing in the Mail in January this year about the financial fair play league , Martin Samuel said;
" All you need to know about the latest proposal for financial fair play in the Premier League is that, if the rules were passed, Venky’s catastrophic takeover of Blackburn Rovers would still be permitted. Jack Walker’s title win, however, would not.
Yes, he could have bought the club just the same, but Walker would not have been allowed to do much of worth with it. He would not have been able to invest at a level that could bring quick success; he would not have been able to challenge the established elite effectively.
So no Alan Shearer, no Chris Sutton, probably no Kenny Dalglish either, because what would be the point? And no league title. Manchester United would have won the championship in 1995, as they did in 1993, 1994, 1996 and 1997 and the MODERN ERA'S GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT would never have happened".
The passage of time allows us to look back in history and re-assess events and where they stand in the greater scheme of things; their importance or significance.
May I just repeat that?
" ...THE MODERN ERA'S GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT ..."
It happened; get over it.

fairly soon....!!
Lets hope Venky's don't go for another untried manager.
For sure this time it has to be tried and tested manager.
with proven experience......!!!
We need stability, and success.
above all else we need a manger who can get on with all concerned especially winning over the fans and uniting everyone at the club.
We need someone to bring in quality players from the Uk and abroad. someone with connections to clubs and players.
We need someone who can take us back to the Premier and that requires someone who is hard working, someone who is not coming only for money, someone who can lead by example, someone who is motivated, someone who can deliver the results required by all fans, someone with charisma, style and passion.
well lets just hope and pray maybe..!
always

Spartak Moscow 3 Blackburn Rovers 0
Blackburn's woeful European Champions' League campaign plumbed new depths yesterday when even the dismissal of Colin Hendry during this comprehensive defeat by Spartak was overshadowed by an extraordinary fight between two of Blackburn's England players, Graeme Le Saux and David Batty.
The two squared up to each other after just four minutes with the game still goalless. They clattered into one another as the ball ran into touch, traded insults, moved on to pushing and shoving and then Le Saux appeared to throw a left hook into Batty's throat. Tim Sherwood, the Blackburn captain, raced in to separate them as Le Saux appeared to be winding up for another blow.
..... Blackburn Rovers... forever an embarrassment to football.
