As a lad born and raised in Peterborough who had a season ticket at London Road until he was 12, i have supported rovers since my old man took me to see the Local Prem team Norwich in 92/93 for a 0-0 bore draw. At half time to get to the toilets you had to walk through the Away fans, which is where my love for the mighty rovers began when a **** up bunch of rovers lads put a blue and white wig on my head and sang songs to me at the age of 7 to encourage me to support rovers... As a lad born and bred in boro I still choose rovers, but hate Venkys and what they have done to our club... And always will until the parasites have gone.

Peterborough take lead through Dwight Gayle. Swanson sees a shot well saved by Kean, his follow up effort is also saved by the keeper but the loose ball falls to Gayle who fires home

Pedersen is replaced by Markus Olsson on the left wing, as left back Karim Rekik keeps his place in the team.

Striker Leon Best has not made the squad, after suffering a reaction in his knee as he strives for fitness, while loan signings Cameron Stewart and Dave Jones are named on the substitutes bench.

SUBS: Sandomierski, Givet, Pedersen, Gomes, Henley, Stewart, Jones

I think after today’s result any lingering hopes of promotion for Rovers is highly unlikely. MA was, we all thought, the ‘new broom’ that would sweep Rovers onwards and upwards, and we even ‘dared to dream’. Alas, the brutal truth is we are simply not good enough. Our only cup of comfort lies in the FA Cup and beating Burnley at Ewood. Based on present form, accomplishing the latter is not a foregone conclusion.

PS. Memo to MA. Please, prove me wrong!!!

Embarrassing - if the Manager and his team had any conscience they would donate a weeks wages to Charity because they did not earn them with that performance.

The only good things about Ewood today was Jones looked a class act in midfield. All season we have been second best in centre midfield to all teams at least there is hope if Jones can be paired with another midfileder who can get stuck in - sorry not Murphy not Lowe not sure the new lad from Hill is a centre midfielder.

As for defence all over the shop and while Orr got taken off it could have been anyone of the back five - Kean looked like a Rabbit frozen to the spot failing to command his area - long term prospect but short term a big question mark remains

Where do Rovers go from here well if there is no improvement I for one will not be renewing my season ticket after 20+ years the football is poor matched by the referees and even a free ticket is not a bargain at Ewood

A 35 year low for me today. Back in the days of the old div 2 & 3 we were sh1te but didn't have players on £30k a week who are not interested or fit to wear the shirt of Blackburn Rovers.

Spineless, overpaid gravy train merchants.

Appleton has now quickly raised huge doubt in his ability which once again begs the question why on earth didn't we get an experienced manager in?

Forgive me if I have made this point before but under Steve Kean we were top of the Championship and third when he was forced out by our knowledgable fans and the wise Shebby, the snake Singh. Since then we have had two permanent managers and two interims. We have released some of the most creative players in the Championship in Rochina, Formica and Vucevij and replaced them with a rabble of rag tag loan players, mercenaries and assylum seekers. We are now an utter laughing stock, a total shambles of a pub team with no heart, commitment, pride, quality or leadership. Unfortunately, the majority of posters on this site are so entrenched in their pathological hatred of Steve Kean that they will still try to persuade us that Appleton needs more time to build a squad and seem to support his attempts to swell the wage bill by recruiting more lower league cast offs. Henning Berg was naiive and inexperience but at least tried to play football. This yard dog has no endearing qualities whatsoever and I can only praise the Venky organisation for not entrusting him with any real money. At least we can ditch the dross that he has recruited at the end of the season and he can take them with him to Barnet, Shepshed Albion or wherever he ends up.
I expect to see adverts in the Situations Vacant pages of the National Papers next week for a Chairman, Managing Director, Coaching Staff and very smart Lawyer to find loopholes in the contracts of the overpaid, underperforming nomads currently parading themselves in our Blue and White Shirts. I could go on but I am too keen , pardon the pun, to see the posts of the soft headed Appleton Apologists giving me the thumbs down. Bring it on Lamebrains.

Did you actually see any of the games under K#%n this season? We were dire and extremely lucky to pick up the points we did. Many teams get in false positions at the beginning of a season. It's the quality of K#%n buys that has left us in the mess we are this season.

What is it with midfielders at Rovers called Jones? They all seem to be well decent players - Jermaine Jones - Philip Jones and now the latest Jones boy makes a very good debut! If anything good came out of today it is this lads signing and the confession from Appleton that some of these players are done with the Rovers.

Murphy definitely must be finished - he certainly plays like it - and which clown signed Murphy on fifty K a week? Oh yes deranged daves mate Kean the terrible! Along with Etuhu - Kean the leg end really shot himself in the foot there....signing his mates probably for a cut of their wages.
Also gone must be Orr - he has had two chances and blown them both. Henley is a hundred times better!

Dire first half was embarrassingly painful to watch and brought the worst from our fans.

second half was a vast improvement and the tactical changes Appy made had an instantly obvious effect.

Reading comments from the armchair bandits here once again makes me glad I don't have to at least put up with standing with you in the stands.

Yes, it was a poor and disheartening performance at least first half, but we showed we're better than that and at least Appy has expressed its the end of the road for some of these no-hopers. Things unfortunately have to take their toll sometimes for changes to happen - and change WILL happen. I'd say the team that plays next season will be s vastly different team to the one that's currently playing with many of the over the hills no longer making the cut.

I'm still behind Appy, he showed today at least he had it to change the game which hadn't been so obvious previously.

Totally agree with you, I was gutted today at 3-0 down and I did blog yesterday to say our two new loan players should be given a chance, I'm glad they both played well but they should have been substituted earlier.
I am still very much behind Appleton but and this is a very big but, if he starts Murphy on Tuesday at Bolton I will be very disappointed, Murphy was absolutely useless today and has been for a while and I think Appy has now realised today what the fans have been moaning about for the last six months, Murphy just isnt good enough and gives the ball away far too often.
We wont be promoted this season but like blueblooded says lets hope Appy can sort this team out for next season... without Murphy and a few other wasters!!

I wish it had worked for berg cos he wanted to play football at first. The dross under MA in unreal, shipped out the few talented ones, all be it only occasionaly. Now he insists on playing the crap he has brought in on loan & **** like Murphy & Orr. One bright spot could be Jones, pity there is not more to Rhodes's game than just scoring! Oh that will do !
