Blackledge triumphs after opponent change

ACCRINGTON'S Luke Blackledge warmed up for next month's fight with Rudy Markussen in Denmark with a fourth-round knockout win over Scott Edgar in Wythenshawe.

Blackledge had taken a fight at short notice and had been due to face Elvis Dube, but then saw a last-minute change of opponent as he instead took on Edgar in a four-rounder.

The 22-year-old super middleweight was giving away 13 pounds in weight to the Scot but secured a knockout victory.

Blackledge now travels to Frederikshavn to face highly-rated Dane Markussen on April 13.
