Seems that a few moaners, seem to forget, what has happened for the last two years also become very spoilt over the last 20 yrs of success. Yes we have lost two away games against two of the better sides in the league. also we still have a young team, and no matter their talent, their confidence can be knocked very easily.... so stop moaning and start supporting

You obviously don't see many matches. We've a right to moan. Last night was one of the worst performances I have ever witnessed in almost 60 years of following Rovers (certainly in the top10 of sh8 played)

I agree we have always had to sell in the past, but for Venkys to come in and ship out an entire Premiership squad and replace them with what we have now is ridiculous.

I never stated I was happy with things at the moment..? Having said that, at the start of the season if someone had said to me we'd have lost Kean and be close to top 10 I wouldn't be that disappointed! Appy has been in charge for 10 games in total, and won 4. When was the last time Rovers had a manager with a 40% win ratio?! Yes the football hasn't been good in the last 3 games... but as I said, Olssen, Williamson, CKR, Best, King, Hanley, Etuhu all out. He's not necessarily electing to play Murphy and Lowe there - he has no other option!! You cant seriously argue that we wouldn't be much stronger side with Olssen and King pushing for a spot in the midfield?? Get away man. The one thing Appy has done is he's made us harder to beat. Yes, we were crap last night... but a Kean/Berg team would have had to score goals to not lose as we couldn't keep a clean sheet. I'd take a 0-0 draw with Leeds over a 2-0 loss away to Blackpool. (Interestingly, when can you remember Rovers ever having a 0-0 scoreline under Kean? Was there ever one?). He's made us more organised and tightened up the defence. Last night Oldham had a right go at Everton in second half after conceding 2 goals in first half. They missed a couple of sitters and scored one. What did Appleton do, advised players to keep it tight and not concede 3 or 4 goals. I'd rather have a go. Appletons track record is poor, all those draws at blckpool. What do you expect, nice bloke like Berg but poor manager/tactician.

Why did they allow the transfer window to shut without the investment that MA deemed the squad needed? (only a fool would believe it was a mistake with the paperwork) Why,with their business nous, did they not think that it was worth investing 10mill in the squad to get them back to the riches of the Premier League? I said the same about the Berg sacking, that they got rid as he wanted new players. They then bring a manager in half way through the transfer window and give him nothing to spend.

What did we really expect?

If McCarthy had our squad at his disposal we would have been in the play off positions now. But then McCarthy wouldn't have bent over and taken it.

I have never veered from my view that we should have recruited an experienced quality manager.

It is the most important job at the club and yet the clowns / corrupt snakes in charge of our beloved club keep making the same mistake.

They're not making the same mistake. It's quite deliberate that they put inexperienced managers / coaches in place so that they can manipulate them.
Can you see a proper experienced football manager putting up with Venkys? No......and they know it. Venkys run this club not the manager and that's why anyone will do, including Kean.........and that's why they wouldn't sack him.

Kean and Appleton are about a million miles apart in character and football knowledge and management skills. To even mention them in the same post is doing MA a very bad injustice.

MA is already at a 40% win ratio and with some very winnable games to come and players to come back from injury then that can only improve.

Some folks on here need a dose of reality concerning all things Rovers ...

I suggest you look back at my earlier posts on this thread and you will see where I have defended him. You are having a go at the wrong person.

I am not meaning to have a go at you Harwoodstblue, and I can see you didn't slag MA off directly....

I am just so bleeding frustrated that we start at long last to see some blue sky at Ewood and people starting to praise the manager (quite rightly) for doing the simple things right - but then we get a couple of poor results and performances and suddenly he is the worst thing since sliced meatloaf.

Appleton needs time and some decent funds to prove his worth and another season for sure. This season is all about consolidation now and building to have a real go to get out of this league next season.

I just hope that the majority of fans can give him that time and almost more importantly I hope that the Venky's back him too.

With regards to Pederson. It was clear 4 years ago that he was no longer a winger. That is why Sam Allardyce played him in central midfield in a 5 across the middle.

As most of the fans know, our main problem is in central midfield where the likes of Murphy, Lowe, Etuhu are just not god enough.
Apart from bringing in Williamson (now injured) Appleton has done nothing to improve this area and we hae been brushed aside by decent teams such as Brighton, Hull and Leicester.

In hs first few days at the club, Appleton talked alot of sense and I thought that we had managed to appoint a decent manager at long last.
Whilst I have not given up on him, I have recently been disappointed with some of his loan signings, his negative tactics, and his reluctance to use subs to try and win games.
His half-time team talk 'don't let us get thumped 5 or 6' seems to sum it all up.

One thing the venkys arnt is stupid,they,ve amassed quite an empire and the fortune that goes with it with their business acumen. Why did they allow the transfer window to shut without the investment that MA deemed the squad needed? (only a fool would believe it was a mistake with the paperwork) Why,with their business nous, did they not think that it was worth investing 10mill in the squad to get them back to the riches of the Premier League? Why was there so much talk from the Ewood clown earlier about only giving a manager a six months contract? And finally why have they brought us down to such a level in two years that we need to rely on four possibly five loan players just to just to keep the squad afloat? I said the same about the Berg sacking, that they got rid as he wanted new players. They then bring a manager in half way through the transfer window and give him nothing to spend.
A commenter on here a day or two ago summed it up perfectly, quote "Venkeys have shown their intentions after successfully negotiating their way through the January transfer window without spending a penny "

That quote just about puts it in a nutshell really, and I must admit that I fail to understand why some people are still under the mistaken belief that the venkys will do the right thing for the Club eventually. If the money would have been made available for either Berg or Appleton,we would have had a very good chance of getting at least in the playoffs and a decent chance of promotion? So the question we all have to ask is; Why have the venkys turned their back on a chance to get us back in the Premiership and the riches that go with it? I don't think you need a degree in rocket science to work out that they have no interest in the Club, The asset players have long been sold off and there is very few assets left at the Club, they have had interference from the likes of Jack Straw contacting the Indian Goverment , Interference that they will not welcome at all. Does anyone believe that they think of us supporters with anything other than contempt, Especially after the justified abuse (and snowball) they received at Ewood recently? he did however play in kenny and ray harford's first game on 12/10/1991 against plymouth when we also won 5-2

it was a saturday afternoon match between the two top teams in division 3 boys...2-0 down and Beamo pulled one back then Hickman and the amazing Don martin scored two goals each to make it 5-2 and one of our greatest ever wins. Plymouth had taken over the town before the game even spraying the Adelphi Pub carpet and walls with PAFC plus painting half the town green. They left pretty sharpish after the game though - and with more than one or two coaches having some newly donated windwow ventilation for the long drive back to the west country thx to the hundreds of Rovers fans who lined the route out of town,

Exactly. under Steve Kean you lot were nailed on for a strong season and a top 6 finish. Appleton is proving himself to be a very very poor manager.
