MOORLAND head boy David Ramsaran has enjoyed a trial with world famous Brazilian club, Vasco da Gama.
The 15-year-old goalkeeper was invited to join the Brazilian giants, based in Rio De Janiero, after a scout saw him in action in the Cayman Islands, where David lives.
“My dream is to be a professional footballer and it was an amazing experience to play for their Under 15s team because Vasco da Gama is such a huge club in Brazil,” said David.
David, who sits his final exams at the Clitheroe school this year, added: “I chose to come to England to study and play because of Moorland’s reputation.
“As Head Boy, I have a big responsibility to set a very good example to my school mates because you are looked up to by a lot of people.”
Ramsaran, who has attracted the attention of several English clubs, added: “I love England and I want to stay here and play professional football if I can.
“At Moorland, the headmaster and the teachers are always there to give you advice and encouragement, and that means a lot.”
Moorland headteacher Jonathan Harrison: “David is a fantastic ambassador for Moorland School. He sets a fine example and we are extremely proud of him.”
