Rekik completes loan move

KARIM Rekik has completed his loan switch to Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season.

The highly-rated 18-year-old joins Rovers from Premier League champions Manchester City and will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's FA Cup trip to Arsenal.

A versatile defender, who is equally comfortable both at left-back and centre half, Rekik started his career with Dutch giants Feyenoord, before securing a summer switch to Manchester City in July 2011.

Rekik made his City debut two months later in the League Cup, before making a loan move to Portsmouth where he played under Rovers boss Michael Appleton until the end of the 2011-12 season, making eight appearances.

The Dutch youth international made his Premier League debut earlier this season, starting in City’s 1-0 win over Reading in December, and is tipped to have a bright future at the Etihad Stadium.

Looks like John Williams must have done all the leg work to get this completed on time. If only he was still at rovers! Hope he showed rovers how its done. Lets hope we get a draw tomorrow wishful thinking me thinks.

not sure we should hope for a draw! get it done on the day i reckon. chances are we'll lose, but i don't think it benefits us to get them back to ewood, when there'll already be league fixture congestion.
fortunately, i'm going to the game. obviously hoping for a win, but just a decent performance with some battle and some threat to their goal will be good enough. the squad should take the opportunity to play without pressure too. and controversially, maybe this is the game to rest rhodes...?

Fitz, not sure about resting Rhodes, maybe give him a partner like Gomes and go 4-4-2
As you say nothing to lose

We will play 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 with CKR upfront and we'll play longball assault for 90mins and loose about 4 or 5-0. I think placing bets on the number of touches rhodes will get would be a fun game, i say 2.

I'd say at least 5 touches, from the centre spot taking all those kick-offs!!

It is the wrong grammar to begin with. It's "Je ne sais pas" and means:

"I don't know"

"Je ne c'est pas" literally means "I don't it is"

Pedantic I know but even the French language needs support!!
I really hope you win tomorrow - Prem v Championship......I comment as a football fan......

With your tone in language you were obviously brought up and still are in the gutter!!!!
Venkys have no integrity see they are back in the high court for money that they owe Berg and has for real investment in the club only 93 day loans deals which does nothing for us long term - even if the player is any good he has to return to his club - some investment this is!!!!
