CLITHEROE reignited their play-off hopes with a fine win at in-form Bamber Bridge.

Chris Dykes, Danny Mahoney and second-half substitute Isaac Kusaloka scored for the visitors after Brig, who saw Matt Mahoney dismissed in the first-half, had drawn level immediately after the break.

The hosts made a lively start and were almost ahead within seconds of kick-off as Daniel Wilkins struck a post from the edge of the penalty area.

Clitheroe recovered their composure and took an eighth minute lead when Dykes’ left-footed effort from the edge of the box found the net via the underside of the crossbar.

Brig were reduced to 10 men 10 minutes before the break when Mahoney was sent off for a two-footed challenge on Lee Pugh before inexplicably lashing out at the Clitheroe skipper. Brig equalised through Andy Bell but the Blues restored their lead in the 53rd minute when Danny Mahoney scored from the spot.

Sub Kusaloka wrapped up the win with a fine individual goal, running in from the half way line before smashing the ball home.
