Agree about the need for decent midfielders - Lowe never seems to be in the game and Murphy's passing is woeful.

We need a midfielder like Jermaine Jones - all over the pitch and strong in the tackle

Be good to have Best back as he gives us another option up front and a bit of healthy competition isn't a bad thing. What we really need to do is to sort out the midfield so that the front men get the quality supply they need to score the goals that win games. We have had a bit of a clear out but what's left doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Let's hope we see some quality brought in, especially in the middle as Lowe, Murphy and Ethuhu are not going to get us to the play offs, earlier suggestion of s Jermaine Jones type box to box player is spot on and if only we could find the next Tugay. One things for certain, things are looking brighter at Ewood

best will be like a new striker but without full match practice/fitness i would leave him as a sub/impact player for the remainder of the season.another striker on the bench should lead to goodwillie going,hopefully.

That's because they are exactly that - peaks and troughs. Ours has been a trough for 2 years. If Megson had lasted 2 years at Bolton they'd have been sticking more than banners up. We are getting a good midfielder soon from West brom the main reason Murphy looks a poor passer is currently there is no outlet to pass to but with an experienced winger things will imrove and the sidewill have a baance we havet seen since Sam left.I agree about Lowe he needs to stop passing back and start looking to get forward quickly he holds everything up and the attacks die.

What went wrong on transfer deadline day? What is the loan signing strategy? Surely as the LET Rovers correspndent have rights of audience with someone in the know. Good communication would ease a lot of the supporters concerns. Or if nobody will speak to you report that and shame them into communicating

Rhodes scored a goal off a Murphy pass on Saturday....plus Rhodes has spoken highly of Murphy's contribution and through balls. I admit for me I think Murphy he has not always been on his game for us and at times he has been very poor especially before Christmas.

But Danny Murphy will play better and better for us under Appleton as the team around him strengthens and improves and allows him to play a more expansive game.

It is surely something to look forward to when Best is fit and competing for a place against the likes of CKR and DJC....goals goals goals just what we need as this has been a major weakness for the team this season. Just a couple of weeks ago there were only 5 teams had scored less than us, though that is changing now.

nice to see positives flowing through the club again.

if MA can get midfield sorted by weekend then we can really start expecting decent performaces.

anyone who had doubts about Appys ability to get the best out of players has to be reconsidering at the moment and his forthright and firm stance on players only wearing the shirt if they truly WANT to play for the club is refreshing and is obviously working. Happy to see then that even Best is going to have to compete for his place in the squad.

Quite interesting the bit about getting turned over by Brum, it must be difficult to comprehend how, for part of December and all of January when you are drawing and losing games you had Charlie Austin sat playing with his thumbs. I honestly don't know a single Rovers fan who believes we have a God-given right to be in the Premier League. I know plenty who believed that we were good enough to be there until Venky's came along and that's why they feel the need to vent their frustrations on here. As for bragging about their elevated status at the time, I'm pretty certain that the majority of Rovers fans would only have done that after you Dingles had posted one of your ridiculous comments on our pages, as seems to have been the norm for years.

As for Manchester United and ourselves being rivals, I think you'll find that it was the press that labelled us that because, for the first three years of the Premier League we were challenging them at the top end of the table. Also, it was more to do with the history between Daglish and Ferguson the geographical location of both teams. Look how long Arsenal, then Chelsea, were considered United's main rivals and you'll see the point I'm making. Personally, I've always considered Burnley to be our main rivals but for a long time our closest rivals were Bolton, only because we've spent a lot of time in the same divisions of them.

As for burnleyglentoran's attempts to play down the Dingles obsession with Rovers by mentioning that it was OUR fans who were all over their page when they lost to Birmingham, are you f***ing kidding me? That's called 'a dose of your own medicine', pal. How often do Rovers fans swamp the Burnley articles with ridiculous comments? That's right, hardly ever. Yet, should you check every article, with 10 comments or more, that's appeared on the Rovers page over the last two years, nineteen times out of twenty you'll inevitably find some moronic statement made by a Dingle. Usually, if we get a result and you Burnley don't then there are no comments from your lot until later that night or early in the morning, but there are comments. In fact, the most popular threads on claretsmad are usually about Rovers. Sorry, now that IS obsession.

As for you, fanny_tickler, your obsession with Rovers is such that you don't mind what you post on our pages so long as you post something. If someone moans about Venky's you mock them for having ideas above their station, remind them that Rovers aren't in the Premier League, insist they'd be bankrupt without Venky's, etc. If someone insists that their fellow Rovers fans get behind Venky's and the team you laugh at them for being positive with those chicken farmers in charge, belly laugh because they're trying to be positive after a recent win, claim that you and your fellow Dingles would've run Venky's out of town a long time ago, etc. In short, you continually contradict yourself just so that you can try and have a laugh at Rovers expense. i am a rovers fan through and through. i had a season ticket for 8 yr before i moved to australia, we dont get any coverage of the games apart from setanta it costs a bomb to have it................. The only way i keep in touch wi the rovers is through this site. Best is to cockey for his boots in my opion!!!!!!!!!!!!! Y put a dampner on rhodes when he is firing them in for fun and clearly states 'I am enjoying the service from colin kazim richards' y does he need to SPEAK out on the LT to make his point heard. Rhodes is clearly a better player than him. Best should be on the training ground proving himself Not slating the only player we have holding our team together. In my opinion its not good for a striker to think that there role is gonna get taken ( being a striker myself)
