CLITHEROE boss Paul Moore is sure his Blues can battle their way out of their sticky spell and get back to the form that saw them emerge as genuine Evo-Stik League First Division North promotion fancies.

Moore’s men have been right in the promotion mix all season but a run of just two wins in their last eight games has seen the Blues slip down to fourth place in the table.

They did win their last game, coming away from Goole with a 2-1 success, but any thoughts of gaining momentum were dashed by two blank weekends thanks to the weather.

However, Moore believes Clitheroe’s attitude will see them through, even though he admits it has been a testing time.

He said: “The weather has been unkind to us all with games off.

“It’s not easy trying to get training completed either. However, we have managed to do that, concentrating on cardio work, so that our fitness levels do not drop.

“We have continued with the outdoor training on Thursday nights and have used the soccer dome on Tuesday.

“All the lads are in good spirits and morale is great going into the business end of our season.

“This is probably the most important time for us now, as we have 17 league games to play.

“We need another 30 points from those games to ensure our play-off spot.

“We have it in us to succeed and I am sure the lads will do everything possible to do so.”
