Moore joins Blackburn Rovers staff

BLACKBURN Rovers have confirmed the appointment of Darren Moore as the club's new first-team coach.

Moore had been working as a professional development coach at Michael Appleton's former club West Bromwich Albion.

Appleton has also brought in Luke Dowling as head of senior recruitment and Chris Neville as head of sports science.

Does this mean Hendrys days could be numbered?

there was a suggestion (i think in one of the earlier LT articles) that bowyer had turned down one of the roles on offer to stick in his current job. he doesn't seem like the kinda guy to bear a grudge, so maybe he's happy to stick with his current role. if that's the case, there would be absolutely no point in the club wanting to take him away from the good job he was obviously doing there.
hopefully he'll be around when the next management reshuffle comes up (let's face it, if appleton does well, he'll eventually be off like all our best managers would), i hope he's still around to throw his hat into the ring.

I heard GB was offered the job as First Team Coach - but chose to stay with the Development Squad. So MA then made the move to get Moore. Sounds like a good team is being put together off the field at last!

Now were talking.

A man who as plied his trade through the Leagues, Mr Moore. Welcome aboard, sir.

The one which excites me though is the Sport Science fellow, Mr. Neville.

Make no mistake fellow Rovers supporter this is a crucial appointment in today's sports, and something we have been lacking these last years. The marked improvement will soon reveal itself on the pitch. No more shirking for these boys adorning the B&W shirt.

Credit where credit is due to all who are now involved in putting humpty back together again down at the good ship Ewood.

Of course, this guarantees nothing on that basis alone, but with these people of note now involved our chances will be much improved out on the field of play.

Welcome the trio and best of luck to you all.

Its exciting and long awaited ,I think /hope we have a good man in charge now and he has brought in a great team of guys all good working pro`s none of your big time prima donnas that think they have had a big name and they want to be a manager and think all they have to do is turn up .
Appleton/ Westwood/Moore running the first team Keeley goalkeeping coach /Luke Dowling finding and bringing in talent .
Gary Bowyer /McPhillips in charge of the reserves/ under 21`s sounds like we have the backroom boys to move this forward.

These are all good men I have looked into the career history of all these guys they are good honest honourable people, they will uphold the name of Blackburn Rovers, there will be no embarrassment from these people.
We just have to get rid of the Global Advisor , probably because he was not the man that wanted M.A he will be a problem, eventually ,and of course Hendry no one I know has a clue what he actually gets paid all that money for , anyway he is a negative influence , he slandered the Rovers supporters in his telling Sky Sports how it was small minority of supporters against Kean , obviously said because he was in line for a job, anyway Keans gone why is Hendry still here ?

Showing us all that you know exactly fook all about football. You might want to engage your severely limited brain before putting your mouth into gear! Obviously was not allowed to do what he is doing at Rovers at Blackpool so took his bat and ball home.

Darren Moore only finished with Burton Albion last February 2012 less than a year ago, and is now our 1ST TEAM COACH having been working with the West Brom Academy.

Matt, I agree things are not good, and the lunatics still own the asylum, but consider this.....

only one month ago, Shebby Singh was calling the shots, Berg had been sacked and this is the kind of thing we were reading -

""""With no one else lined up for the manager's role, British Indian Judan Ali – who has been involved in a Bollywood football movie and was assistant manager of a London Sunday league side three years ago – is expected to take over the running of the Championship team alongside the former Aston Villa assistant manager Kevin McDonald. Ali would be assistant to McDonald, who is in talks about a No 2 head coach role.""""

Since then...

1) Team GB steadied the ship
2) Singh has vanished
3) Appy has started rebuilding on and off the pitch.

A month ago we looked out of control and heading for relegation, now we look like we we could finish top half of this division.

Little comfort, and there are many things wrong at the club, but considering how far we have fallen do we not deserve to take 5 minutes off and share a glass of 'half full' with French Rover ?

It is the most encouraging period (the last month) then any time over the last to years and with the right mix and a proffesional approach from the Management team will hopingly filter right throughout the club.
What is needed is to rid the playing squad of "bleeders" and anyone not able to rise to the challenge and contribute.
The hunger for success must be at every level.....everyone dancing to the same tune, so to speak.
The fans will see the honesty come through, just like they have seen through the "b......t" over the last two years.
EVERYONE IS NEEDED TO GET BEHIND THE TEAM "NOW".....THEY NEED EVERYONE TO GET ON BOARD AND GET THEM ON A ROLL.........COYB

It would appear that some people don't even want to attempt to be positive, no matter what happens. Jobs for the boys? I think you'll find that the vast majority of managers assemble a back room staff that includes people they've worked with previously and, therefore, know what they're capable of. I agree that Moore, like Appleton, doesn't have years of experience doing the job they've been hired for. However, like most fans I've been very impressed with Appleton since he arrived and am willing to trust his judgement.

What would you rather, Singh and Venky's appointing his coaching staff for him, only to sack them a few months down the line if we lose a couple of games?

Appears Appleton is bringing all his mates and cronies in ...... This after he walked out on a club after just a few weeks to join us which in itself says something about the guy.

Obviously was not allowed to do what he is doing at Rovers at Blackpool so took his bat and ball home.

Darren Moore only finished with Burton Albion last February 2012 less than a year ago, and is now our 1ST TEAM COACH having been working with the West Brom Academy.

Totally underwhelmed.

We appear to have become a club where novice, untried, untested inexperienced coaches are using us to learn how to ply their trade.

Blackburn (West Brom / Portsmouth with a bit of Preston thrown in) Rovers.

I hate, despise and loath the whole scenario of "Jobs for the Boys" and goes against everything I believe in.

Unbelievable how things have and are unfolding....

Bonjour et Sante Greenscreener - you are more than welcome to share a glass anytime!

Remember Mick (Baz) Rathbone .. Took a degree in Physiotherapy .. Not much experience but turned out to be David Moyes best signing for Everton ..
Give the new backroom staff a chance ..
Who knows what the future holds ? ..
The last match was a win ..

All we need now is some decent players and new owners. Don't get too carried away, Apple and his mates are virtually untried and the combined wage bill will be down considerably.
When we get a decent run of results, I'll crack out the bubble.Till then, I wish them well and fingers crossed.Hope to see the back of Poorwillie and "I'll run a bit if I feel like it" Kazim.

And, do us a favour, take Fanny-tickler with you ?

In a land where people outnumber toilets by 50,000 to 1 his experience of trips to Turf Moor will really help you navigate your way through a vast wasteland to a 5hithole.
