Sadly football is often adversely affected by a minority spoiling things for the majority.

The vast majority of Rovers fans will give Appleton every chance to succeed and that includes using their energies to get behind the team tomorrow as opposed to screaming abuse at those who spent millions to buy the Club when nobody else would.

Unfortunately the minority are likely to be more vocal than the majority who will be 'waiting and seeing'.

And fans wonder why we rarely see the owners!

Yes, their record to date is shocking but as we have no other options let's get behind the lads on the pitch and hope that the owners will eventually get it right.

I am no apologist for Venkys - just a pragmatic realist.

The beginning of the end was the shameful treachery of the Walker Trust and I have no doubt that we would be in even more difficulty if we still relied on them for funding.
I have openly stated that Venky have made monumental errors of judgement but we would not have survived in the Premiership under the old regime and whilst I have no allegiance to them, I WILL give them the benefit of the doubt for as long as they continue to prop up the club by making good the shortfall from former fans who can not, or will not continue their support.

Not sure whether i agree with "They haven't invested brass farthing"! Like every club, players move on! before Venkys it was alot more common. Santa Cruz, Bentley, Duff, Dunn, Bellamy, Warnock. In fact im pretty sure, under the Trust with Williams at the helm, we ALWAYS had to sell a main asset before we bought... im pretty sure warnock had to go cos we didnt finish as high up as we expected (or to sign Kalinic...cant remember but i know we had to sell him). I also think under the Trust we never wouldve signed the number of players we have under Venkys for the prices that they paid. Especially Rhodes and Dann who cost a fair bit. Then add Goodie, Petrovic, Formica, Best who all cost between 2-3 mill each. Plus Santa Cruz's wages when on loan! I also think under the old regime, we wouldve sold Samba to the first bidder around 8mill... and Olsson would already be at West Ham! I know everyone points to P.Jones and Samba being sold. But one thing that puzzles me especially, and ive only noticed it this season, and maybe someone can help me understand it.... if our tickets cost £12 per game (season ticket holders) and around £15-£20 for individual games.... and we only get 10-13,000 per match... so around 200k income per home game, so lets say 100k per week (if for example we played home 1 week and away the next)... and Rhodes picks up 35k a week ALONE. where does the other money come from to cover all the costs of players and staff wages and also the matchday staff in the concourse, store, ticket office, security.... training ground staff/secretaries/gr

I'm not happy with most of their decisions... and they deserve some stick... but i think we should remember that they CANNOT be making money from a club thats been relegated and cannot even fill half its ground at rock-bottom prices. No-one else wanted to buy us and i can understand why! These guys did.... so accept it! If they are abused on at the game today (which they may deserve to be)... it will not and cannot have any positive effect on our situation.

Don't get me wrong Venky's, ill advised or not have made some awful mistakes but for once I actually think they could have picked the right man for the job in Appleton, he talks a great deal of one thing that has been missing, common sense.

And he comes across as an honest, genuine bloke who went through the mill at Portsmouth.

Just remember, the last time Venky's turned up and the boo boys got their rocks off "Telling them like it is" we didn't see hide nor hair of them for 3 months, leaving Kean to run everything into the ground.

We can't afford for that to happen again with Shebby still sitting in the background, we need Venky's here seeing for themselves the damage they have caused.

2) Why are they being sold so quickly? And at alarmingly cheap prices? Nzonzi 3mil? Olsson maybe 4? Nelson free? etc.

I've vented my spleen in the most constructive of ways as is possible, but I'm a great believer in hope springs eternal particular when it comes to the beloved.

In 40 years of supporting our club this period as been the most gut wrenching I've experienced, and I have to believe the owners will eventually get it right for the long term ?

I am a layman in the bigger scheme of things regards BRFC, and for most part tend to lean toward the subjective in my opinion, but I know these people are no fools, but arguably stupid considering just what they have a responsibility for.

Ours as always risen from the flames bringing joy along the way. this is the last chance saloon for Venky, and I'm in good shape considering the last 4 games under Bowyer and Co.

I just hope the supporters of our beloved can begin to let subside the last years and all of us move on to better days ?

I think his point is that whilst there are a few making millions hand over fist, the normal people of india are starving, living in mud huts, dieing of disease and malnutrician and getting raped in broad daylight because it is a third world country where life is cheap so he prefers it over here where he has his own computer instead of sharing a pair of shoes and washing his clothes in the river, God save the Queen

Sadly football is often adversely affected by a minority spoiling things for the majority.

The vast majority of Rovers fans will give Appleton every chance to succeed and that includes using their energies to get behind the team tomorrow as opposed to screaming abuse at those who spent millions to buy the Club when nobody else would.
