UPDATED: Pitch inspection for Millwall v Burnley
11:24am Friday 18th January 2013 in Sport
MILLWALL have announced that a pitch inspection will take place at 9am tomorrow to determine whether their game against Burnley will go ahead.
The Lions believe that the pitch will be playable for tomorrow's 3pm kick-off, with the Den having undersoil heating, but have called in the referee for a morning inspection.
Millwall say they will also need to assess conditions around the ground because of snow and freezing temperatures.
"With a weekend weather warning out for snow in South London, everyone at The Den is working hard to beat the freeze and ensure that Saturday's npower Championship clash with Burnley goes ahead," Millwall said in a statement.
"The undersoil heating should ensure that the pitch is playable, but the referee will be at The Den at 9am on Saturday for an inspection.
"Naturally other factors are beyond our control, including the state of local roads and the surrounding areas, plus of course, public transport."
