Baldwin is new Immanuel skipper

HOULDSWORTH Solicitors Ribblesdale League outfit Oswaldtwistle Immanuel have appointed former Cherry Tree all-rounder Jon Baldwin as their new captain.

Baldwin scored almost 400 runs and claimed 33 wickets for Immanuel in his first season at New Lane and he replaces Nick Payne as skipper.

Oliver Clare will be Baldwin’s vice-captain for the season.

Good to see my old sparring partner ‘Toshtralia’ back at the helm of a side.

Shrewd appointment by the New Lane boys.

Hope he stays fit or else the Disciplinary Panel could be busy if his hot headed young deputy ever has to stand in!

This is great news for Ossie.

John Baldwin clearly has a nose for runs and a useful habit of penetrating the opposite batsmen with the ball.

You can guarantee that Baldwin will give his all, off the pitch if not on it.

Heard a whisper of the social media that his old mate Chucker is joining him at New Lane next year.
