BARNOLDSWICK Town were left to rue two early goals as they were beaten by Runcorn Linnets in the North West Counties Premier Division.
The visitors went ahead in the fourth minute when Matty Cross was left unmarked at the far post to head home a corner.
Cross then doubled Runcorn Linnets’ lead just three minutes later as his overhead kick went in off the underside of the bar.
Barlick pulled a goal back nine minutes into the second half, though, as Mark Threlfall smashed a 25-yard effort into the net.
But new signing Oliver Devenney, the former Burnley youth player, was sent off for violent conduct on the hour mark.
Billy Priestley was then denied an equaliser by the crossbar in injury time.
