RAMSBOTTOM United slipped to a home defeat to New Mills in Evo-Stik First Division North.

The Rams have had more success on the road this season, winning eight of their away games, and were 3-0 down by the hour mark.

Carlos Meakin put New Mills ahead in the sixth minute and James Hampson then netted in the 29th and 56th minutes to put the visitors on course for victory.

Dominic Smalley pulled a goal back for Ramsbottom with 11 minutes left and Philip Dean then made it 3-2 from the penalty spot in injury time, but it was too little too late.
