Burnley boss Dyche's dismay at Stock dismissal and defeat
8:37pm Saturday 5th January 2013 in Sport
MANAGER Sean Dyche felt a poor refereeing decision cost Burnley their place in the FA Cup.
The Clarets boss was baffled by the first of Brian Stock's two bookings, which left his side playing for almost an hour with 10 men against managerless Barnsley.
Midfielder Stock was wrongly yellow-carded for an off-the-ball incident involving Marlon Harewood and Michael Duff as the Clarets defended a free kick. Stock was booked again 12 minutes later for a foul on Jim O'Brien.
Nevertheless, the tie looked to be heading for a goalless draw and a replay despite Barnsley's numerical advantage, until a blunder by goalkeeper Brian Jensen allowed substitute Danny Rose to score from close range to secure a rare win for the Tykes.
But Dyche pointed to Stock's dismissal as the biggest factor in their 1-0 third round defeat.
“I am disappointed in the outcome today because of a referee’s decision that is totally out of our hands,” said the Burnley boss.
“We can affect a game and try to beat the opposition, but it’s very difficult when it goes beyond the opposition.
“The first booking is not a booking. (Marlon) Harewood hits our player in the back of the head and doesn’t go off the pitch, which I am amazed at.
“Brian (Stock) is left with an unfortunate booking and if there was a push it is not even him because I’ve seen it again.
“I don’t really see what Brian’s part is and it certainly looks like mistaken identity.
“I’ve watched what happened in the wall five times and it’s incredible any of our players were booked in that incident.
“That changes the whole feel of the game because we were in command of the game at that stage and never looked in trouble.
“We never looked in trouble with 10 men, let alone 11, but decisions go out of our hands and there’s nothing you can do!”

Check the league table out boys - how are your embarrassingly poor heros doing? Behind Burnley it would appear - how sad for you.
What about the reign of Berg and now Bowyer? You are just a footballing laughing stock and the rest of the country is now realising what we have known for ages - basically that you set of face-combers are the most embarrassing set of fickle 'supporters' that football has ever seen, and you have previously reaped the financial rewards under that senile old fatty Walker and now have got the owners that you set of protesting uglies deserve.
Oh, and what a set of loyal supporters you have - 5 and a half thousand? How the 'mighty' have fallen.
Can't wait to see you fall into oblivion.

A failed troll (who posts on the Rovers pages - but gets ignored - snigger) who has set his username as "Blackburn Fans Love Horses" isn't a bitter, twisted claret no-mark?
You're all over the place sunshine, officially the most feeble, pitiful dingle I've met on this site.
Hope some other Clarets come & help you soon.

I am not bitter about Blackburn, not in the slightest, I mean what on earth do I have to be bitter about - you guys are power-**** and those Burnley fans Venkys are the comedy gift that keeps on giving.
From the sacking of Big Fat Sam through hardworking Agents Kean and Berg to that soundbite champion Shebby Singh, culminating in the rows at board level and chicken-loving supporters' failed protests.
Blackburn are clearly a club in freefall and it warms the cockles of my heart to know how much the club means to you, and how much you are crying and wailing about your demise.
Never mind eh Chico, could be worse....actually it probably couldn't.

You are the very definition of failed troll - you named yourself after a gay reality TV star who once appeared at Turf Moor - what does that say about you? Shouldn't you be on the Rovers pages failing to get a response?
